17 Things We Did In 2017

As each year comes to a close, the Hylink team enjoys taking a step back to observe and appreciate how far we’ve come over the past twelve months. The Hylink USA office, now two years old, has found its strength in numbers (we’ve nearly doubled our employee count), and in many glasses of cabernet consumed (see wine stats below).

Some random, yet essential, year-end highlights for your reading pleasure:

  1. Started a partnership with Heal the Bay, held monthly team beach clean-up

  1. Opened our first UK office at London Shard

  2. Stayed hydrated: went through 40 crates of wine, 200 barrels of water

  3. Received major wall upgrades, complete with a mural, a grass wall, and a meme display

  4. Took home 22 awards from China International Advertising Festival (CIAF)

  5. Began weekly office meditation sessions

  6. Consumed 480 packs of Milano cookies

  7. Held an in-office cocktail competition; “Beijing Bang” won bragging rights

  8. We went green: by reducing paper consumption, cutting down on A/C, switching the dishwasher to cold water, and using alternate transportation methods, we have contributed to an average reduction of 28,000 pounds in C02 emissions

  9. One wedding (congrats, MH)!

  10. One new baby boy (congrats, MF)!

  11. Participated in a 5K race

  12. Reported major returns on Fliggy Singles Day Campaign (16x ROI for contributing partners, to be exact)

  13. Initiated monthly chair massages -- verdict’s still out on whether they promote higher cognitive functioning or just more desk naps

  14. Held a “culture-swap” karaoke event on Founder’s Day

  15. An undisclosed number of stolen desk sandwiches ravaged by our resident border collie, Turbo

  16. Had an Extreme Makeover: Website Edition, thanks to our stellar design team (slow...clap…)

Anyone who knows Hylink, knows we love our four-legged friends. Since the Chinese calendar marks 2018 as the Year of The Dog, we’ll take it as a sign that this year will be the best one yet. With that, we wish our clients, colleagues, and partners a prosperous and joyful New Year.
